SWINDON WORKSHOP · SN4 0HT
Pads, discs, calipers, hoses, fluid and rear drum brakes. We check the whole system, show you what is worn, and agree the price before we fit anything.

A high squeal often means the wear indicator is touching. Grinding can mean metal on metal.
A sticking caliper or uneven wear can drag the car left or right under braking.
The brake light can point to low fluid, worn pads or a sensor fault.
A pedal that sinks further than usual needs checking straight away.
Pad thickness measured, discs checked for wear and lips, and both replaced as axle sets when needed.
Seized or sticking calipers freed or replaced, along with slide pins and fittings.
Cracked flexible hoses and corroded pipes replaced before they fail.
Fluid changed and the system bled, so the pedal feels firm again.
Rear shoes, wheel cylinders and adjusters on cars that still use drums at the back.
Cables and adjustment checked so the car holds properly on a slope.

Plenty of smaller cars still use drums on the rear axle. The shoes wear slowly and are hidden from view, so problems with the wheel cylinder or adjuster are easy to miss.
We take the drums off, check the shoes and cylinders for wear or leaks, and set the adjusters so the handbrake works as it should.

If you drive in from Wroughton, Chiseldon, Wanborough or the town itself, the workshop is close by. Further afield, the M4 and the A346 get you here quickly.
We are at the Unicorn Business Centre, Ridgeway, SN4 0HT, near Chiseldon and a few minutes south of M4 junction 15. Royal Wootton Bassett and Purton are an easy hop along the M4 from junction 16, Marlborough is straight up the A346, and Highworth is down the A419. See the Swindon centre page for directions.
