Which Transit Customs have the EcoBlue?
Transit Customs from 2016 on use the 2.0 EcoBlue diesel. The earlier 2.2 TDCi is a different engine with a chain.
Ford now gives the EcoBlue belt an interval of 6 years or 100,000 miles. Dealers were told this in July 2023, so older paperwork may show a longer figure.

Why EcoBlue belts wear
When the DPF regenerates, extra fuel is injected. On vans that do short hops between jobs, some of that fuel ends up in the oil, thinning it and attacking the belt.
A worn belt sheds pieces into the sump, which can block the pickup and starve the engine of oil. Changing it on time is far cheaper than an engine.
The water pump isn’t part of the belt job. If you want it done while the front is open, it is £120 extra.

How long it takes
Most wet belt jobs take one working day. If the car reaches us before 9am it is usually ready the same afternoon. A Friday job that runs over is finished on the Saturday so you can collect it, and a booked weekend job dropped off by 9am Saturday is done by Sunday.
